Epic Linux Administrator Hyperspace Deployment

POSITION SUMMARY The Hyperspace Deployment Administrator is responsible for installing and managing the Epic client application deployment platforms that support production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs. This role involves maintaining the necessary administrative and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and optimal performance of the Epic system. The administrator will monitor performance metrics, troubleshoot system issues, and assist in configuring and troubleshooting integrated third-party software and peripherals. Additionally, the role includes managing user logins, configuring login behavior, and ensuring secure access to the system. The administrator will apply platform and Epic updates across both production and non-production environments, while also responding to emergency and after-hours issues. Key responsibilities also include engaging in capacity planning to ensure the system has adequate resources, collaborating with technical teams and Epic for proactive support, and writing scripts to automate system management tasks. The role requires active participation in the change control process for all planned application and technical activities, maintaining business continuity processes, and ensuring compliance with Epic and vendor best practices for hardware and software configurations. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex deployment platforms and systems effectively. Off-hours work and participation in on-call rotation are required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: • Expertise in the Microsoft Windows server administration • Expertise in your Citrix application deployment platform • Expertise in VMWare • Working knowledge of network protocols and functionality including TCP/IP, Active Directory, Domain Name Services, FTP/SCP, and HTTP Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Ability to analyze and solve problems. • Technical knowledge and understanding of clinical systems. • Ability to communicate effectively with staff. • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. License/Certification/Registration: None Required SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives minimal supervision from the Manager, Infrastructure & Cyber Security. SUPERVISION GIVEN None ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs • Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system • Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues • Assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third party software and peripherals • Managing logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration • Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production components • Responding to emergency and after-hours issues • Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources • Collaborating with your technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support • Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks • Participating in your change control process for all planned application and technical activities • Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity • Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
