Oakwood Software is seeking a motivated Junior Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our software systems, working closely with technical leads and managers. This is a full time, salaried position at our Plano, TX location. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications based on specifications provided by managers or technical leads. • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. • Conduct thorough testing to ensure software functionality and accuracy. • Provide timely and professional responses to task assignments. • Collaborate with testers and support personnel to resolve system issues. • Maintain client confidentiality. • Contribute to project documentation and provide administrative support as needed. • Actively participate in code reviews, team meetings, and training sessions to enhance your technical skills and stay updated on best practices. Required Skills and Abilities • Positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated team player. • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Excellent attention to detail. • Effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), preferably with PHP. • Familiarity with MVC frameworks. • Experience with front-end technologies: Bootstrap, JavaScript, AJAX, and CSS. • Proficiency in SQL, preferably MariaDB or MySQL. • Knowledge of personal auto insurance concepts is a plus. Education Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or Information Technology.
