About the position The Credit Review Data Analyst position at Flagstar Bank is a key contributor role within the Internal Credit Review's (ICR) Strategy, Operations, Analytics, and Reporting (SOAR) team. This role is responsible for managing and performing credit data analyses to support risk assessment, examination, portfolio surveillance, and reporting activities. The analyst will work independently and collaboratively to develop analytics, generate visualizations, and monitor trends to identify potential credit quality issues and risk management deficiencies. The position also involves assisting in portfolio sample construction, supporting workflow tools, and contributing to special projects, providing exposure to various credit portfolios and significant engagement with stakeholders across the bank. Responsibilities • Source, manage, and analyze portfolio data to support credit risk assessment and continuous monitoring activities. , • Support the development and enhancement of ICR's data analytics, reporting, and workflow technology tools. , • Design and create standardized and customized data visualizations and reports for stakeholders. , • Maintain process and control documentation of data provisioning and usage activities. , • Support critical department operational processes such as annual planning and budget management. , • Develop collaborative relationships with ICR stakeholders to monitor portfolio developments and promote knowledge sharing. , • Participate in special projects to enhance ICR's capabilities. Requirements • BA or BS degree; MBA or other advanced degree or certification is a plus. , • 4-8 years of experience in banking, financial services, consulting, internal audit, or equivalent, with significant data analytics experience. , • Demonstrated experience using technology or analytics applications like Oracle PL/SQL, Business Objects, SAS, or Sharepoint. Nice-to-haves • Experience with lending, finance, and risk management methodologies. , • Experience in a large financial institution regulated by OCC or FRB. , • Prior experience working with commercial or consumer credit data.
