Solar Technician- Texas

We are excited to invite a dedicated and skilled Solar Technician to join our client's team in Texas. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in solar technology or electrical work, particularly with high voltage (HV) systems. This role offers a unique advantage: the opportunity for internal promotions and significant career advancement. You must travel to various sites in Texas for emergencies. In these situations, you will act as an extra set of hands and also help with the training of more junior technicians. This aspect of the role ensures that you gain diverse field experience and contribute to the growth and development of the entire team. A company vehicle will be provided for your travel needs, and all travel/lodging expenses will be covered by the company. Job: Traveling Solar Technician Location: Texas (Central, South, or North) Responsibilities: • Manage and repair electrical issues at solar sites, including troubleshooting and restoring power. • Responsible for up to 50MW. • Oversee and maintain solar panels, ensuring they are clean and operating efficiently.2 • Work in teams of two for safety, especially during power outages and shutdowns. • Report to the direct site manager and communicate with tech leads and site operations managers. • Ensure timely power up and power down of solar panels and monitor their movement with the sun. • Participate in on-call duties and work weekends if necessary. • Submit equipment requests and report activities via control room. • 30% in office (control room), 70% outdoors (Solar site). Requirements: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in solar technology OR electrical work with HV systems. • Must have experience with utility scale solar. • Willing to travel daily • Valid Drivers License/Clean driving record • Ability to work in outdoor conditions. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
