About the position The Room Operations internship at Highgate Hotels offers a dynamic and paid opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in hotel room operations within a fast-paced environment. Interns will learn about the hospitality industry while working at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, which features extensive event space and luxurious amenities. This internship is designed to provide practical knowledge and skills relevant to hotel management and operations. Responsibilities ? Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with employees and guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner. , ? Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests. , ? Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. , ? Attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings. , ? Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards. , ? Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag. , ? Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. , ? Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions. , ? Handle problems effectively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary. , ? Understand and apply complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives. , ? Cross-train in other hotel-related areas as needed. , ? Maintain confidentiality of information and show initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs. , ? Perform other duties as requested by management. Requirements ? Currently studying for a Bachelor's degree, Graduate degree, or equivalent in Hotel Management or a related field. , ? Coursework in hotel revenue management concepts and tools preferred. , ? High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. , ? Strong communication skills are required. , ? Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. , ? Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification. , ? Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret revenue performance data. , ?
