QA Lead & Tester – Sports Gaming (VR)

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced QA Lead & Tester to join our game development team focused on building immersive sports gaming experiences in virtual reality. This role requires strong hands-on testing skills, leadership ability, and a solid understanding of both game development and football.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and product leads to define and execute QA strategies.
  • Lead and perform hands-on QA testing for VR games with a focus on functionality, usability, performance, and device compatibility.
  • Manage the JIRA ticketing system—triaging bugs, tracking metrics, and reporting test progress.
  • Coordinate testing schedules, coverage, and communication between QA, business, and development teams.
  • Deliver detailed bug reports, test plans, and risk assessments.
  • Work with a confidential pre-release device that must remain within the U.S., adhering to strict security and confidentiality guidelines.

Requirements

  • U.S.-based, preferably near Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles.
  • 2–5+ years of QA experience in game development, with a preference for VR or console titles.
  • Proficient in JIRA and bug tracking methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of game development pipelines, QA best practices, and Agile workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Bonus Points

  • Experience playing or coaching football at any level (high school, college, or professional).
  • Strong passion for the NFL and familiarity with football rules, gameplay, and strategy.
  • Previous QA experience on VR games, especially with motion tracking, physics systems, or VR UX.
  • Experience testing sports titles or simulation-based games.

Additional Notes

This is a hands-on role requiring both leadership and execution. You’ll be responsible for testing, documentation, and cross-functional coordination, with a focus on quality and attention to detail. Applicants must be located in the U.S. due to hardware restrictions.
