Note this is a volunteer role Position Overview As our Facebook Group Moderator, you will be responsible for managing and growing our Facebook group for young mothers, ensuring the group remains a positive, safe, and engaging space for all members. You will facilitate group growth, foster engagement, and enforce group guidelines to ensure the community stays supportive and compliant with Facebook's terms of service and our own standards. This is a volunteer role ideal for someone passionate about social media, community building, and supporting young mothers. You will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact by helping grow a thriving, supportive online community. Key Responsibilities • Group Growth & Engagement: • Actively promote the group and encourage new members to join by sharing it across relevant platforms and networks. • Foster meaningful conversations, encourage members to share their stories, and create a positive, welcoming environment. • Monitor engagement and post frequency to ensure the group remains active and interactive. • Content Creation & Curation: • Post relevant content such as articles, resources, inspirational quotes, event updates, and community spotlights to keep members informed and engaged. • Share educational and motivational resources that align with the group’s mission and the needs of young mothers. • Compliance & Group Moderation: • Monitor all posts and interactions to ensure they align with the group’s guidelines and Facebook’s community standards. • Approve or decline new member requests, ensuring that all members are aligned with the group’s purpose and values. • Enforce group rules and remove harmful, inappropriate, or non-compliant posts and comments. • Handle member disputes or concerns in a sensitive, professional manner to ensure the group remains a safe space. • Community Building: • Respond to member inquiries, provide support, and foster a sense of community and belonging. • Encourage members to share helpful tips, personal experiences, and advice, creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. • Highlight success stories and promote group member achievements to build morale and inspire others. • Reporting & Analytics: • Track group growth metrics (e.g., new members, engagement levels, post interactions) and provide monthly updates to the Social Media Lead or Event Manager. Qualifications • Passion for supporting young mothers and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives. • Experience with Facebook group management or social media community management (preferred but not required). • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage group interactions professionally. • Ability to moderate sensitive topics with empathy, respect, and understanding. • Comfortable with Facebook’s features, including group settings, member management, and post moderation tools. • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. • Familiarity with Facebook’s community standards and best practices for online group management. • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while maintaining a team-focused approach. • A positive, friendly, and nonjudgmental attitude.
