Territory Sales Mgr

We are looking to hire a Territory Sales Manager to join our dynamic team! Successful candidates have experience in the steel industry and have a solid level of experience with the types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers. The Territory Sales Manager (Outside Sales) will focus on business development and customer retention within their respective sales categories. This role is designed for an energetic and confident sales professional looking to join a rewarding and entrepreneurial environment. This position will report into the VP of Sales.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting for new business and maximizing growth opportunities
  • Responsible for increasing revenue in targeted accounts
  • Effectively build consensus, gain appropriate commitments and close business
  • Must maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in industry related associations and events
  • Conduct competitive market intelligence; analyze and adjust positioning to grow market leadership
  • Forecast sale trends, sales dollars and communicate competitive situations
  • Maintain and enhance our sales position with existing customers
  • Set up and maintain routine customer contact
  • Strategic business plan development and execution
  • Interact with Inside Sales Representative to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Interface for customer quality issues
  • Travel when needed

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 5+ years of management experience in steel service center sales
  • 3 years outside selling experience in the Flat Roll steel industry
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic understanding of metallurgical terminology
  • Confident in computer skills, including MS Office Suite
