The Opportunity - Senior Software Engineer (Remote - CANADA)

Wrapbook is looking for a Senior Software Engineer I (Backend) who will play a hands-on role in driving our mission to build an outstanding technology company. You will be working as part of a cross-functional team, driving architectural decisions and building internal tooling from start to finish.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with other developers and engineering stakeholders to provide performant and scalable solutions

  • Improve existing complex architectures and ideate internal tooling solutions to streamline common repeat tasks

  • Lead and support the delivery of complex problems with ambiguous requirements by breaking them into small, approachable tasks

  • Write strong RFCs and technical implementation proposals

  • Take ownership of feature delivery from concept to production

  • Write performant, scalable, and secure software

  • Review and have your code reviewed. Mentor and learn from other developers

  • Ensure code is well-tested and well-architected

  • Actively improve our tools, processes and best practices

What you’ll have

  • You have a strong technical background and significant experience building production web applications

  • You understand how to write, analyze and optimize SQL queries (PostgreSQL is a requirement)

  • You have experience designing and documenting RESTful APIs

  • You have experience building high throughput services and internal APIs

  • You have experience with testing frameworks and code coverage strategies

  • You have strong analytical skills with a focus on detail
