POSITION OVERVIEW The Paralegal II will provide administrative, research, and other support to the Legal Department and corporation in the areas of employment law, benefits, human resources, immigration, corporate law and other designated areas. Location: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support attorneys with employment, labor, benefits, immigration, and corporate issues.
  • Review and revise contracts, agreements, and proposals with the guidance and oversight of supervising attorneys.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of corporate policies and assist with the management of the Policy Center.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on a variety of Federal and State laws and regulations, including HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, and OSHA.
  • Assist with unemployment claims management and other administrative processes.
  • Assist with personnel file and subpoena responses.
  • Draft correspondence and coordinate administrative and legal practice tasks and projects.
  • Monitor developments and changes in the law.
  • Making contributions to the Legal Department as a whole, including creating and improving internal processes and assisting with file management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of legal experience in private practice or as an in-house paralegal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of legal experience in private practice or as an in-house paralegal preferred, particularly with experience in any areas of employment law.
  • Experience with SharePoint and C365 or other contract management systems.
