Responsibilities

Sales Support Assistant provides support to the Cruise Consultants. Incumbent acts on behalf of the consultant when the consultant is out of the office. The Sales Support Assistant must be familiar with all facets of the Cruise Consultant’s duties as he/she will cover a consultant in their absence. Sales Support Assistant must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills to successfully service high end/luxury clientele. Our mutual goal is to ensure a flawless experience and noteworthy service when working with Cruise Specialists clients.

  • The hours for this role are 8:30am-5pm Pacific Time with one 4-hour weekend shift on Sunday required*

Provides support and assists a team of Cruise Consultants by:

  • In the absence of a Cruise Consultant, fulfills all their responsibilities. Provides detailed follow-up on all activities and transactions upon their return.
  • Processes quote requests from all lead channels on a timely basis and inputs transaction details into Agent Mate reservation system. When appropriate, follows-up with the prospect and prepares the lead for a Cruise Consultant to close the sale.
  • Processes a variety of scheduled reports including Final Billing, and payment reminders.
  • Able to book cruise reservations with all cruise lines and their online booking engines.
  • Confident in the recommending, selling and servicing of ancillary items such as insurance, hotels, and air.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to existing, new and referred clients.
  • Addresses client issues as they arise and involves management as appropriate.
  • Participates in other duties and projects as assigned by Director of Sales.

Qualifications

  • 2-year travel industry experience required, in the cruise market.
  • Confident or knowledgeable in Cruise Line booking tools
  • Exceptional proven customer service skills
  • Competent with Excel, Word and Zoom and able to absorb new technology
  • Friendly disposition with a natural willingness to do more than is expected
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member, self-starter
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to recognize when management involvement is necessary
  • Ability to absorb and retain, or keep easily found records of much information
  • Cruise Line or Travel Agency experience a plus travel school or college degree
