Software Resources has an immediate, contract to hire job opportunity for rcGIS Analyst with a major organization in Orlando, FL. Onsite 5 days a week initially to come up to speed on the team, and then hybrid (3 days per week onsite).Must Have: Active and current ArcPro to SDE experience Public Safety experience is ideal.JOB SUMMARYThe GIS (geographic information systems) Analyst provides mid-level technical support in identifying, researching, designing, developing, deploying, troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex issues related to a multi-user GIS network system.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Please note: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Install and configured GIS components including but not limited to software, telecommunications, peripherals and associated elements. Research, obtain, compile, create and migrate data into GID databases using GID software, automation tools and scripts. Apply systems development life cycle process to create rules and tools that solve and prevent common data alignment issues to maintain data accuracy and integrity. Perform data analysis of GID data based on elicited business requirements, generating high quality maps and reports for use in project and decision-making processes. Extend GIS software to develop custom tools and automation processes to produce identical and predictable results to support the GIS environment. Maintain and support agency's public safety applications and the spatial data infrastructure. Conduct training for GIS users in the theories, principles, and practices required to understand geospatial data. Evaluate new software, provide recommendations and best practices to support GIS environment. Assist with system administration of GIS environment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) in Geographic Information Systems or related field AND three (3) years of geographical information systems (GIS; e.g., ESRI ArcMap) mapping related experience and/or training.OrHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) AND four (4) years of geographical information systems (GIS; e.g., ESRI ArcMap) mapping related experience and/or training.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid Florida driver's license. Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving an agency vehicle. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver's physical exam. Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment and maintained as a condition of employment. Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment and maintained as a condition of employment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of citizens or employees of an organization. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, citizens, and the general public.Must have comprehensive knowledge in high quality map design, drawing, and cartographic practices related to cadastral or ownership maps, street or right-of-way maps, or natural environmental features. Must have proficient skills in business, system, process and data analysis. Must have advanced skills in the following areas: GIS data and technologies, ESRI desktop products, methodology of geodatabase design, geodatabase topology and attribute error resolution, exporting of updated (edited) data in ArcSDE, theories, principles, practices and geoprocessing framework; management of ArcSDE data (e.g., geocoding, linear referencing, etc.); design, implement, maintain and modify automated processes; SQL in Management Studio environment to query, capture and manipulate data; programming/scripting languages (ArcPy, Python, etc.) to extend ArcGIS software to develop unique tools and workflows that provide users with custom functionality.
