Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the core General Ledger (GL) accounting team covering asset accounting, operating expenses (OPEX), and global bookkeeping functions.
  • Own the month‑end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements and disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls, audit procedures, and financial reporting policies that align with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the VP of Finance, cross‑functional leaders, and external auditors to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for automation of manual accounting processes; lead the design and implementation of system enhancements in NetSuite, Zoho, and other ERP platforms.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and third‑party service providers, ensuring seamless collaboration and high‑quality deliverables.
  • Provide analytical support for new product launches and strategic projects, evaluating financial impact and recommending risk‑mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
  • Collaborate with the broader finance organization to analyze financial results, prepare executive dashboards, and support decision‑making at the senior leadership level.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience in senior or supervisory roles, preferably within public companies, late‑stage startups, or public accounting firms.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Systems Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with modern ERP systems, especially NetSuite and Zoho, and familiarity with automation tools.
  • Data Skills: Strong analytical abilities, including SQL querying and data‑visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead high‑impact projects, manage multiple priorities, and influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a technology or AI‑focused organization.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance/Accounting).
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools.
  • Track record of implementing process automation that resulted in measurable efficiency gains.
  • Exposure to international accounting standards (IFRS) and multi‑currency reporting.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate financial implications, and propose forward‑looking solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Comfortable tackling ambiguous, complex challenges and delivering pragmatic, data‑driven recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Proven success working closely with product, engineering, legal, and operations teams to align financial goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy and compliance in all financial deliverables.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment where priorities can shift quickly.
