Online Curriculum Developer - Higher Education (Remote)
Our client, a respected institution in higher education, is seeking a creative and experienced Online Curriculum Developer to design and build engaging digital learning experiences. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the US. You will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and technology specialists to transform traditional course content into interactive and effective online modules. Your expertise in instructional design principles, learning technologies, and curriculum development will be key to creating high-quality educational programs that meet the needs of our diverse student body. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop engaging, pedagogically sound online courses and learning materials across various disciplines. Collaborate with faculty and SMEs to translate subject matter expertise into effective online curriculum. Utilize instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create learning objectives, assessments, and learning activities. Develop multimedia content, including videos, interactive simulations, quizzes, and presentations. Implement learning technologies and platforms (e.g., LMS, LXP) to deliver online courses effectively. Ensure all developed curriculum adheres to accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and institutional quality guidelines. Create assessment strategies that accurately measure student learning outcomes. Provide training and support to faculty on online teaching best practices and curriculum utilization. Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in online education, instructional design, and educational technology. Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project timelines. Qualifications: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing online courses, preferably within higher education. Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design principles. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or similar platforms. Experience with multimedia development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) and video editing software. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and universal design for learning (UDL). Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, SMEs, and technical teams. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting. Portfolio showcasing successful online course development projects is required.
