Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Insight Global is seeking a Legal Subject Matter Expert to join a cutting-edge GenAI team. This role involves guiding research teams to enhance AI model performance with legal expertise, creating annotation standards, and translating legal knowledge into trainable formats for AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Guide research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in your legal domain
  • Create and maintain precise annotation standards tailored to your legal specialty. As a domain SME, you'll set the gold standard for quality and rigor
  • Translate tacit legal expertise into explicit, teachable knowledge for AI systems. Develop guidelines and detailed rubrics / evaluation frameworks to assess legal reasoning across tasks
  • Design challenging, domain-relevant legal tasks across multiple specializations, and write accurate and well-structured solutions to legal problems
  • Evaluate legal tasks and solutions and provide clear, written feedback
  • Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data

Skills

  • Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, or advanced degree in a relevant field related to legal expertise
  • A minimum of 5 years professional legal experience, outside of any internships or clerkships
  • Domain expertise in 1 or more of the following: Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Employment and Labor Law, Regulatory and Compliance Law, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Contract Law, Antitrust and Competition Law, International Law
  • Experience teaching advanced legal concepts (e.g., law school instruction) demonstrating ability to distill and relay complex legal problems in logical, step-by-step thinking
