Senior Cloud Identity and Access Management Engineer – Google Cloud & Azure Platform Specialist

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Join arenaflex: Shape the Future of Cloud Security and Identity Management

Are you a seasoned cloud engineering professional with a passion for designing secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions? arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated and technically accomplished Senior Cloud Identity and Access Management Engineer to join our forward-thinking Enterprise Cloud Tool Enablement and Strategy team. This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate of $28/hour, where your expertise will directly influence how our organization secures and empowers its data analytics and business intelligence ecosystems across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.

At arenaflex, we believe that cloud transformation is more than just migrating workloads—it is about creating trusted, resilient, and intelligent foundations for the future of healthcare, insurance, and data-driven decision-making. As a Senior Cloud Engineer specializing in Identity Access Management (IAM) and authentication strategies, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trusted advisor, architecting solutions that enable seamless yet secure access to the tools and platforms that power our business. If you are ready to lead cloud security initiatives at scale and mentor the next generation of cloud professionals, we want to hear from you.

About arenaflex and the Industry

arenaflex operates at the intersection of healthcare innovation and advanced technology infrastructure. As a major player in the health insurance and managed care industry, we provide comprehensive coverage solutions to millions of individuals and employers across the United States. Our work spans the full spectrum of healthcare services—from hospital and physician coverage to telehealth, prescription drug benefits, and complex case management programs led by registered nurses and clinical professionals.

Behind every successful healthcare outcome is a robust technology backbone, and that is where you come in. Our Enterprise Cloud Tool Enablement team is responsible for onboarding, securing, and optimizing a wide range of data consumption and business intelligence tools within Google Cloud. We partner with IAM, authentication, and enterprise architecture groups to ensure that every solution we deploy meets the highest standards for security, compliance, and operational excellence. Joining arenaflex means becoming part of a mission-driven organization where technology serves a greater purpose: improving health outcomes and member experiences nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Cloud Engineer at arenaflex, you will take ownership of high-impact initiatives that define how our organization approaches cloud identity and access management. Your day-to-day contributions will include:

  • Cloud Authentication and Access Expertise: Provide deep technical expertise on device access, authentication mechanisms, and authorization frameworks as a core component of broader cloud instrument enablement efforts. You will be the go-to authority for all things related to identity and access within our cloud ecosystem.
  • Solution Architecture and Design: Create, propose, and refine cloud engineering solution designs related to cloud tool enablement, with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud access and authentication best practices. You will produce comprehensive design documents that balance security, usability, and scalability.
  • Multi-Cloud Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as an expert in both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure with respect to access and authentication capabilities. Your cross-cloud knowledge will enable arenaflex to maintain a consistent security posture across heterogeneous environments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with enterprise cloud engineering, IAM, and authentication teams to ensure proposed solutions align with existing policy requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices. You will act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging data technologies, industry trends, and evolving best practices in cloud security. You will make data-driven recommendations for adopting new tools, frameworks, and methodologies within arenaflex's cloud instrument ecosystem.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. You will foster a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional development across the cloud engineering organization.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure all cloud solutions meet internal governance standards, healthcare regulatory requirements (including HIPAA), and industry compliance frameworks relevant to a healthcare data environment.

Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates must bring a solid foundation of professional experience and technical knowledge:

  • Cloud Engineering Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering, ideally in a senior-level capacity with specialized expertise in Identity Access Management (IAM) and authentication mechanisms.
  • Public Cloud Platform Experience: 3+ years of experience working in public cloud environments, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure, with practical knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, or a closely related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who stand out will demonstrate additional credentials and capabilities:

  • Professional Certifications: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification, or Microsoft Azure equivalent certifications.
  • IAM and Authentication Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of IAM and authentication best practices within Google Cloud, including experience with inter-cloud device vendors and multi-cloud public cloud architectures.
  • Network and Transaction Security: Strong understanding of best practices and available techniques related to IAM, authentication, and network transactions within GCP and across open public cloud environments.
  • Documentation and Visualization Skills: Ability to create clear, concise, and visually effective solution design diagrams that are easy to communicate and understand across both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Acumen: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver state-of-the-art cloud engineering solutions for complex tooling and data platforms.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
