Position Overview: Data Entry Pharmacy Technician

We are currently hiring a meticulous, dependable, and highly organized Data Entry Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmaceutical team at arenaflex. This position is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, depending on the candidate's availability and our operational needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate Data Entry: Enter patient demographics, prescription details, allergy information, and clinical notes into the pharmacy management system with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. Ensure all records are complete, up to date, and compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Prescription Verification Support: Review incoming prescriptions for completeness, clarity, and accuracy before processing. Flag any discrepancies, missing information, or potential interactions for review by the supervising pharmacist.
  • Patient Record Maintenance: Continuously verify, update, and maintain patient profiles in the system, ensuring that insurance information, contact details, medication history, and other critical data are always current.
  • Insurance and Billing Assistance: Process insurance claims, verify coverage, troubleshoot rejected claims, and assist in resolving billing discrepancies to ensure timely reimbursement and minimal patient disruption.
  • Medication Preparation Support: Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications, including counting tablets, measuring liquids, and packaging unit-dose items as needed.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and arenaflex privacy policies. Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Workflow Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, fellow technicians, and support staff to ensure the smooth, timely, and efficient flow of operations throughout the pharmacy.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in routine audits, data integrity checks, and process improvement initiatives designed to elevate the quality and reliability of pharmacy operations.
  • Customer and Patient Interaction: Respond to incoming calls, messages, and inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned by the pharmacist-in-charge or pharmacy manager to support the overall mission of arenaflex.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is strongly preferred; candidates with equivalent state licensure will also be considered.
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy, healthcare setting, or related data entry role is preferred but not mandatory for enthusiastic candidates with the right aptitude.
  • Solid working knowledge of pharmacy management software, electronic health records, and general computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy in high-volume data environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Prior experience in a high-volume retail, mail-order, or specialty pharmacy setting.
