What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of the customer experience. Your role is dynamic and hands-on, combining frontline customer engagement with essential behind-the-scenes store support. Below is a detailed overview of your core responsibilities:

Customer Engagement and Service Excellence

  • Greet every customer warmly and proactively as they enter the store, setting a positive tone for their shopping experience.
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise, answering product questions, and offering recommendations based on their needs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback, ensuring every shopper leaves satisfied.
  • Build lasting customer relationships by demonstrating genuine care, patience, and attentiveness during each interaction.

Point-of-Sale Operations and Cash Handling

  • Accurately process all customer transactions using the store’s Point-of-Sale (POS) system, including cash, credit, debit, and gift card payments.
  • Handle customer funds responsibly, following all cash-handling procedures and company policies to ensure accuracy and security.
  • Issue receipts, process returns, and manage exchanges in accordance with arenaflex guidelines.
  • Reconcile the register at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to management immediately.

Merchandising and Store Presentation

  • Assist with unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, verifying shipments, and organizing stock in the stockroom.
  • Transport merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor efficiently and safely.
  • Stock shelves, fixtures, and displays independently, ensuring products are neatly arranged, properly labeled, and attractively presented.
  • Recover merchandise throughout the day to maintain a well-organized, fully stocked shopping environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock or out-of-stock items to the appropriate team members.

Store Cleanliness and Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment by completing regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
  • Remain constantly aware of customer activity throughout the store to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.
  • Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures, promptly reporting any suspicious activity or potential hazards.
  • Support opening and closing duties as assigned, including setting up displays, securing the premises, and preparing the store for the next business day.

Operational Support and Team Collaboration

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management to support the overall effectiveness and profitability of store operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and exceed customer expectations.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work culture.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required for candidates with relevant retail or customer service experience.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directives and interpret retail operational documents, training materials, and company policies.

Experience

  • Previous experience in retail, grocery, hotel, restaurant, or drug store environments is highly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience operating a Point-of-Sale system or cash register is a plus.
  • A demonstrated history of reliability, punctuality, and strong work performance in previous roles.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced retail setting.

Availability

  • Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing schedules based on business needs, including peak retail seasons.
