[Remote] Senior Revenue Accountant

They are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and scalable revenue operations within their finance team, collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure compliance and accurate revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

  • Support the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606
  • Perform monthly close tasks for all revenue-related activities
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and other analytics to ensure complete and accurate recognition of revenues
  • Provide support to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting for finance requests, audit inquiries, and other revenue-related matters
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, sales, operations, and other business partners to provide guidance on complex revenue transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recognition
  • Leverage data analytics tools to identify revenue trends and improve forecasting accuracy
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
  • Provide support and maintenance regarding internal controls over the order-to-cash cycle, including reporting and related accounting estimates
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of revenue-related systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business needs
  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to analyze revenue-related transactions and variances to budget
  • Determine methods and procedures to resolve complex accounting discrepancies
  • Analyze financial data and present actionable variances to accounting leadership
  • Mentor staff accountants and assist in establishing departmental best practices
  • Coordinate directly with external auditors to ensure compliance

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 4-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting or related roles
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles, with specific expertise in ASC 606
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, with experience in NetSuite or similar platforms
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM systems
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills
  • Prior public accounting experience
