[Remote] Senior Revenue Accountant

They are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and scalable revenue operations within their finance team, collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure compliance and accurate revenue recognition.
Responsibilities
- Support the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606
- Perform monthly close tasks for all revenue-related activities
- Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and other analytics to ensure complete and accurate recognition of revenues
- Provide support to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting for finance requests, audit inquiries, and other revenue-related matters
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, sales, operations, and other business partners to provide guidance on complex revenue transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recognition
- Leverage data analytics tools to identify revenue trends and improve forecasting accuracy
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
- Provide support and maintenance regarding internal controls over the order-to-cash cycle, including reporting and related accounting estimates
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of revenue-related systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Collaborate with finance and business teams to analyze revenue-related transactions and variances to budget
- Determine methods and procedures to resolve complex accounting discrepancies
- Analyze financial data and present actionable variances to accounting leadership
- Mentor staff accountants and assist in establishing departmental best practices
- Coordinate directly with external auditors to ensure compliance
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting or related roles
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles, with specific expertise in ASC 606
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to think strategically and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making
- Proficiency with ERP systems, with experience in NetSuite or similar platforms
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx
- Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM systems
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Prior public accounting experience
