[Remote] K- 12 Account Executive

They are seeking a K-12 Account Executive to drive new business opportunities within public sector K-12 school districts, requiring a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes and strong relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
- Own a K-12 territory and develop a strategic plan to drive net new logo acquisition
- Build pipeline through outbound prospecting, partner engagement, attendance at regional public sector events, and leveraging existing relationships in the K-12 community
- Navigate public sector procurement processes including cooperative purchasing vehicles (TIPS, OMNIA, E-Rate, DIR, and others), RFPs, and sole-source opportunities
- Develop relationships with IT directors, CIOs, CTOs, superintendents, and other key decision-makers across your target accounts
- Collaborate with channel partners, VARs, and public sector-focused resellers to source and close opportunities throughout the region
- Work closely with Sales Engineers to deliver technically credible evaluations and demonstrations tailored to the unique requirements of public sector environments
- Maintain accurate pipeline, opportunity, and forecast data in Salesforce
- Stay current on regional legislation, funding initiatives, cybersecurity mandates, and compliance requirements relevant to public sector security buyers
- Represent iboss at K-12 focused conferences, trade shows, and regional events
Skills
- 4+ years of quota-carrying sales experience, with at least 2 years focused on K-12 accounts
- A genuine hunter with a demonstrated ability to open new accounts and build pipeline independently in the public sector market
- Deep familiarity with public sector procurement — cooperative contracts, E-Rate, and RFP processes
- Experience selling through and with channel partners in a public sector sales motion
- Understanding of cybersecurity, network security, or cloud security concepts — familiarity with Zero Trust, SASE, or web filtering is a strong advantage
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate the political dynamics common in government and education environments
- High sense of urgency, strong organizational habits, and a disciplined approach to territory and pipeline management
- Proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM
- Prior experience selling cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud infrastructure solutions into K-12 accounts
- Established relationships with IT and security leaders at state agencies, school districts, or universities across Texas and the broader TOLA region
- Familiarity with E-Rate funding and how it applies to network security and filtering solutions
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
