[Remote] Bilingual Distribution Practices Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Empire Life is looking to hire a Bilingual Distribution Practices Consultant to join their Retail Distribution team. The role involves supporting distribution teams by developing services that promote best practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage risks associated with distribution channels.
Responsibilities
- Provides knowledgeable and practical advice to business unit partners concerning distribution matters relating to distribution due diligence, best practices, contracting and monitoring, in respect of prospective, current and former distribution partners to support the Company’s distribution relationships and improve the quality of distribution partner business
- Collaborating with the Distribution Practices team, participate in the implementation of practical solutions designed to support the Company's compliance with all distribution-related regulatory requirements and industry and corporate standards to help manage the Company's legal, regulatory, and reputational risk
- Provide cost effective distribution risk management support to business units through the development and implementation of compliance and risk management standards and measures designed to enable proactive distribution risk management activities
- Deliver engaging and informative presentations to distributors through webinars and in-person presentations
- Monitor Distribution Partner contract obligations, market conduct, standard criteria, use of company logo, block reviews, report creation and make recommendations for remedial action
- Provide knowledgeable and practical advice to business unit partners on Distribution Partner compliance requirements
- Distribute Compliance Review Surveys (CRS) and Annual Compliance Certifications to Distribution Partners; review and analyze results to determine course of action
- Conduct desk and on-site reviews and develop a detailed report on findings and recommendations; forward recommendations to the Distribution Partner and follow up on action plans; collaborate with Distribution Partners regarding the recommendations; provide resource information and assistance for implementation into their practices
- Communicate with sales teams and Distribution Partners on existing, changed or new industry or regulatory requirements that affect their practices
- Provide new and updated education tools for use by our Distribution Partners, including company compliance website, Distribution Partner Reference Guide, FAQs
Skills
- Bilingual in both English and French
- 5+ years work experience in the insurance/financial services industry with hands-on experience in distribution, training or compliance
- Completion of a university degree with courses in business administration or other applicable discipline
- Knowledge of sales practices and relevant insurance regulation
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, internet, and presentation software
- Well-developed investigative, analytical and decision-making skills
- Very well developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Tact, diplomacy and the ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects
